Fear Of Sharks And The Underwater Can Be Overcome

For many divers, Similan Island Liveaboard is the ultimate getaway. The day is filled with diving and relaxing knowing that the drive crew are preparing for the next dive. At the end of the day, you do not have to worry about preparing your meal because there is someone assigned to the task. All you need to think about is the next dive that you will do when the morning comes.

However, there are still people who are intimidated by sharks. Lisa Guerrero is Inside Edition’s Chief Investigative Correspondent. One day she got a call from her producer to do a shark dive. Her immediate reaction was to say no because she was afraid of the underwater and sharks.

The fearless investigative correspondent revealed that her fear of the open water started when she was a young girl growing up in Southern California. She watched Jaws, the movie and since then feared sharks. Lisa Guerrero was also afraid of the underwater. She has never tried scuba diving or snorkelling. She never experienced wearing scuba equipment.

However, Lisa eventually agreed to the challenge because she was inspired by celebrity WWE wrestler who overcame her fears to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Discovery Channel’s Shark Week. According to Lisa, the Long Island Aquarium in New York explained how equipment is used and what to expect once she is submerged inside the shark tank.

Even with all the lessons about feeling safe, Lisa was not prepared with how massive the sharks are. It is nothing like watching the mammals on television. At one point, one of the sharks opened her mouth while Lisa was holding her GoPro. She was so scared that she almost dropped the camera.

However, Lisa appreciated the sharks because when you see them in real life, they are actually gorgeous and good looking. They are massive and terrifying but they are very beautiful.

An amazing scuba diving experience is offered by Similan Island Liveaboard to people who love the underwater. All dives are guided by highly experienced PADI Instructors and dive masters. There are different sizes of air conditioned and comfortable cabins for families and a group of friends.
