The Bespoke Hospitality Management Asia company, a hospitality management company based in Asia and operating in Phuket, has been gaining popularity in the region. Enough so that The Flight Centre Travel Group, a major international travel agency company. For those looking for family hotels in Patong, this is good news, as BHMAsia has a property in the area slated to open sometime in the future.
The acquisition of BHMAsia will be FLT’s first investment in the hospitality sector, and is said to be aimed at improving the group’s rapidly growing in-destination travel experiences division, one of its major aspects, or core business pillars, alongside its corporate and leisure travel operations.
FLT is a major travel agency group, one of the world’s largest, with company-owned operations across 14 countries, as well as a corporate travel management network that covers a wide part of the globe, reaching over 75 countries. It has 19,000 people, and 3,000 stores across the globe, with annual revenues exceeding USD$14B/Bt477.68B.
Anthony McDonald, Chief Executive Officer for BHM, said that this acquisition would be useful for speeding up BHMAsia’s growth and putting it on the fast track. According to him, it is a strategic fit, seeing as how FLT has customers in need of hotels, whilst BHMAsia has hotels in need of customers. He says that, with FLT’s global distribution network, BHMAsia’s hotels can deliver improved service to its customers coupled with an end-to-end experience, as well as increased returns to their owners.
Mr. McDonald, who founded BHMAsia back in 2013, will retain the position of CEO, like the other BHMAsia executives, who will remain in place as the company expands throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
The details remain under wraps until the deal is finalized, according to a memo released by both parties sometime last July.
BHMAsia is set to open several new properties in Thailand, such as the X2 Vibe Phuket Bangtao Residence on Bang Tao Beach, followed by a new addition to the family hotels in Patong, the X2 Vibe Phuket Patong Hotel, and further up north is the X2 KhaoLakAnda Mani Resort.
A company statement made last January stated that it will be opening eight new properties in the Asia-Pacific Region, a sign of the company’s commitment to growing further.
